Welcome to Azalea Mountain School

Choosing a school for your child is a particularly important decision and we are delighted that you are exploring Azalea Mountain School.

To help you make that decision, we offer a variety of ways for you and your family to learn about our school and to see if Waldorf philosophy resonates with your values. The school offers a variety of events that will help you to decide if Waldorf Education is right for your family: Open Houses, Observation Mornings, private tours, and numerous Festivals throughout the year.

Those families who are currently enrolled at Azalea Mountain should go to the Reenrollment Page.

Open Houses are events in which we start with an overview of Waldorf Education, then go on to tour classrooms, and view student work. Following that will be “Windows on Waldorf (WOW)” where parents ‘become‘ Waldorf students and experience the education for themselves. The presentation concludes with refreshments and Q&A with teachers, current families and alumni. Our next WOW events are on:

We also welcome you to attend a Parent Observation Morning, during which you attend a class in session. For our Kindergarten Program we invite parents with their child to ‘join in’ the class during free play and circle time. For our Grades Program we ask that only the parents attend to quietly observe a portion of the hour long main lesson. Following the Observation Morning, questions will be addressed by your host.

If you cannot attend one of the above we invite you to schedule a private tour.

You may submit an application at any time during the school year. We have an open enrollment policy which means that when a space becomes available, the school will fill it immediately from the waiting pool of applicants. Reenrollment for current students is completed during February. We begin accepting new students for the fall term in March.
