Azalea Mountain School is seeking the donation of the following items:
- large metal sieve (for rinsing grains, such as quinoa)
- felt
- pyrex, 2 cup measuring cup
- (2) tea pots (the ones we have are on loan)
- (4) small pitchers or milk bottles children can pour from
- large bag of plain flour (for play dough)
- (15-20) short, wide mouth glass jars for painting
- (15 – 20) 1″ wide natural bristle paint brushes
- Stockmar watercolor paints in: vermillion or carmine(red), ultramarine or prussian blue and yellow
- (20) small, matching bowls for snack
- tea towels
- colored tissue paper
- play silks
- solid colored flat bed sheets
- beeswax candles – votives and large pillar
- candle snuffer
- pure beeswax (big chunk from bee supplier that we can make beeswax wood polish, lanterns, candles, etc. with)
- geodes
- wood boat bath toy; metal funnels; small sieve (all for water play – we would like to designate one sink in the classroom as the water play sink)
- real gardening tools (rakes, trowels, spades, etc. – both adult hand tools and sturdy child size tools)
- bags of soil
- truck load of garden soil and mushroom compost
- logs or boards with which to construct raised beds (would like to have raised beds along fences and boardwalk near the sandbox; other raised beds where tipi was standing)
- sprinkler
- (4) watering cans: both adult and child size
- wood stumps
- wood boards of various lengths (most immediate: (1) 5′ long 1 x 6; palettes we can build forts with)
- child size, sturdy, wood working bench/table
- 4-in-1 rasp/files (5)
- small hammers (5)
- sandpaper
- bulk bottle of lavender essential oil
- bird feeder, bird seed, and metal “shepherd’s crook” to hang it on outside our window
- wooden animals and figures
- bass wood or other soft wood from which to carve wood animals and figures
- table puppets (or materials to make them with: felt, batting, skin colored jersey fabric, large metal washers, embroidery thread)
- embroidery thread in various colors
- wool yarn in various colors
- lamb skin for the cozy corner
- pillows
- pretty “Waldorf” pictures/postcards we can hang in the room
- slide (just a slide that can be installed in the hillside by digging out and setting it into the ground or one that can be tied between two trees)
- (2) 4 x 4′s with large hooks (to set in ground and hang a hammock)
- rope ladder that can be tied between two trees and let hang down hillside for children to scale the hill
- tightly bound hay bales for climbing and fort building
- old wood door (to lay across hay bales as a roof or platform)
