The Azalea Mountain Morning Garden is a Parent-Child Program for families with young children who are looking for community and connection in their parenting journey. The parent-child group offers a wonderful bridge between the child’s early life at home and their future entry into school.
Our program is led by Maria Allen, who brings a wealth of experience working with young children. Maria taught at the Winterberry Waldorf-Method Charter school in Alaska and holds a degree in Waldorf Early Childhood Education. She is currently the music teacher at Azalea Mountain and lead teacher at Dandelion Hill. One morning a week parents and children will come together with Miss Maria to share in a cozy morning of cooking, toy making or seasonal crafts. The morning also includes the comforting rhythm of circle time, a healthy snack and a time for discussion on parenting topics.
The program offers a supportive environment for parents to explore the joys and challenges of raising young children, to learn simple crafts, stories and songs and to joyfully observe young children in movement, play and social interaction.
