Azalea Mountain welcomes the addition of Anne Centers to our kindergarten classroom.
Anne Centers grew up in a large family in a suburb of Buffalo, New York. Like her mother, she took delight in children and became a teacher. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education. She has four children, a step-son, and two beautiful granddaughters.
Anne received her Waldorf training at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California where she earned her Waldorf Early Childhood Teaching Certification. During her training, she taught Kindergarten in a brand new Waldorf Charter school in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The area was rich with lectures, study groups, workshops, and conferences by Master Teachers in the Waldorf World. She loved it!
This past year, Anne found herself on the doorstep of Sea Star Initiative and taught Parent/Child classes. Included in her Friday class was her daughter Becky and 16-month-old Brooke, while her older granddaughter, Ava, enjoyed being in the Buttercup Nursery. Anne spent this past year reading and recommending books, websites, and articles to her parents. Every weekend was spent playing with Ava and Brooke, allotting her the opportunity to strive to do her best as a grandmother.
She is also a mother of a daughter, Becky and the grandmother of two girls, Ava and Brooke. As a Child and Parent Advocate, she is pleased to be part of a tried and true educational system that works with the whole child, while fostering a strong parent partnership.
